What is the AI in Public Health Decisions Toolkit?
The AI in Public Health Decisions Toolkit contains a set of resources to support people to critically question the use of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system. The resources can be used to help people decide how much they want public health decision makers to trust an AI system. We also hope the Toolkit will be used by computer scientists to better understand questions people might have about an AI system used in a health context.
How to use the Toolkit
The Toolkit includes five components, which are all available as PDFs to download. These five resources can be used in a five-step process.

How we made the Toolkit
The AI in Public Health Decisions Toolkit was developed over the course of six online public engagement workshops carried out in September – October 2021. This project is an extension of the Human Behaviour-Change Project, which is a Wellcome Trust funded collaboration between University College London, the University of Cambridge, the University of Aberdeen and IBM Research.
